Club Membership
The North Iowa Figure Skating Club was founded in 1983 at the North Iowa Ice Arena. The purpose of the NIFSC is to promote and encourage the sport of figure skating according to the guidelines of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFS), and to cultivate a love of figure skating. This program is run by a volunteer Board of Directors, parent volunteers & its coaches.
NIFSC Regular club memberships are intended to enhance and become an extension of the Learn to Skate programming we offer. As a Regular Club Member it is still a good idea to continue with the Learn to Skate program through the FreeSkate 6 (or Adult 6) level. LTS is the most cost effective way to continue to grow and learn new skills. Becoming a regular club member enables a skater to participate in USFS events, including competitions and test sessions. Skaters can participate in all the NIFSC sponsored events such as the annual Winter & Spring shows, and MORE! Members have access to purchase club ice. This ice time is designated for private lessons, specialty classes, and individual practice.
Regular membership is open to ALL skaters regardless of age or skill level although some membership class benefits will be restricted based on skill level. For billing purposes, during the 2025-2026 season, we will offer two sessions, September – December & January – April. Skaters may join as a regular member at any point throughout the season.

Membership Levels
There are a variety of memberships available for joining North Iowa Figure Skating Club. We’re excited to have you!
Membership with NIFSC runs from July 1 – June 30 and needs to be renewed annually. Most of (about 70%) your annual registration fee goes directly to US Figure Skating and the remainder goes to our general fund to help offset administration fees and annual awards. Having the USFS club membership allows our club to utilize curriculum, provide coaching support, and allows skaters to skate in sanctioned events such as competitions and ice shows both locally and not. As a regular club member, you are required to have your own skates.
Included in all regular membership types:
● Certificates of accomplishment & patch for passing proficiency tests*
● Subscription to SKATING magazine*
