The North Iowa Figure Skating Club Spring show has been an annual tradition since 1983! Even before our official start, annual shows were held in the mid to late 70’s at an outdoor rink. For over 40 years, NIFSC skaters, along with Learn to Skate skaters, have enjoyed putting together a high-quality show that highlights their skating skills. In 2025, we added a Theatre on Ice element to our show! Join us this season & be a part of this time-honored tradition!

The 2026 show theme is “Skating Under the Sea,” where we will highlight music from popular shows such as Moana, Finding Nemo, & Sponge Bob Square pants – The Musical, followed by a Theatre on Ice production of The Little Mermaid!

Spring Show is Saturday, April 4th at 5 pm. All LTS skaters must check in by 4:00 pm.

We encourage ALL skaters to get involved with the Spring Show at their comfort level. For our Learn to Skate participants, you have two options to participate! All fees include ice time, coaching, costume rental & skate rental (if needed). Female skaters will need to purchase a pair of tights & a nude-colored leotard to wear under costumes. Male skaters will need to provide a pair of black pants (athletic type is ok) & a white long-sleeved shirt. All other costume pieces will be provided.

Options for Participation

Option 1 – Learn to Skate Group & Spring Skate Clinic numbers
These groups are divided by the skater’s general skill level and adapted based on ability from there. These groups perform in the first 1/2 of the show & have a more traditional group program feel. These programs will be taught in a clinic-based format on Saturday, March 28th, from 12-3 pm. We will teach the program, practice, have a fun activity & snack! Cost is $40/skater. In addition to the clinic, skaters in these programs are asked to attend the full show rehearsal on Sunday, March 29th, Act 1 run-through will be from 4-6 pm & dress rehearsal on Thursday, April 2nd, starting at 5 pm. Cut off for LTS Groups & Spring Clinic is Tuesday, March 24th. Late registrations for these programs may be considered, but a $20 late registration fee will apply.

This option is open to ALL Spring Clinic participants, Little Explorers, Snowplow Sam, Basic Skills, FreeSkate & Adults!

Option 2 – Theatre on Ice (TOI) – LTS skaters who choose to be a part of the Theatre on Ice portion of the show will be featured as various sea creatures such as fish, octopus, sea horses, crabs, etc and be a part of various songs such as Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, and our TOI opening, Fathoms Below as Sailors. Those who choose to participate in the TOI portion of the show will learn NEW skills on how to incorporate acting, emotion, & artistry into skating and earn themed theatre on ice patches (similar to your learn to skate skills patches). TOI is the full second 1/2 of the show & is a play on ice. These programs will be taught weekly on Sundays (& a couple of Fridays). Cost is $60/skater. TOI participants MUST register by Sunday, March 1st. Late registrations for the TOI may be considered, but a $20 late registration fee will apply.

Final individual practice schedules will be handed out by March 2nd, but all LTS TOI practices will take place on Sundays, March 8, 15, 22, between 5:30-6:30 pm & Fridays, March 27, April 3rd, between 5-6 pm. Skaters will also be a part of the full show rehearsal on Sunday, March 29th, 5:30-7:00 pm & Dress Rehearsal on Thursday, April 2nd, starting at 5 pm.

This option is open to ALL Basic Skills, FreeSkate & Adults! *IF you have a Snowplow Sam 3 skater who is interested in this option, you may register.

CHOOSE both options & save $10!
