Spirit Squad

Join us for the 2025-2026 Brutus’s Spirit Squad! Spirit Squad will be a fun way for kids to get involved and bring the SPIRIT to home MC Toros & NI Bulls games. Spirit Squad participants will lead cheers & chants, team up with Brutus, help facilitate raffle & chuck-a-puck sales, assist during intermissions, and, most of all, bring the SPIRIT! This is NOT a commitment to all home games. Participants will be able to sign up to attend select home NI Bulls and MC Toros games.
This program is brought to you in partnership with the North Iowa Figure Skating Club, Mason City Toros Hockey, and North Iowa Bulls Hockey. NO skating experience is necessary to participate. Participants will not be skating as part of this program.

FAQ
What is the cost? And what does it cover?
The cost for the 25-26 Season is $50 and includes an official Spirit Squad Shirt, a personalized hair bow (to keep), and admission to Spirit Squad games for the participant. We will be providing cheer poms for use at the games, coaching, and supervision at games for the participants. This is a one-time cost for the full season! Attend one game, two games, or many games. It’s up to you!
Who can participate?
ALL youth grades K-5th! We welcome everyone who has hockey spirit to join the FUN! If you have a child older than 5th grade who would like to participate, please reach out to us. We are happy to work with you!
I can’t skate or don’t want to skate.
That’s okay, we won’t be skating this season. This is a cheer type squad for the MC Toros & NI Bulls games. NIFSC & Bulls/Toros organizations are coming together to bring a FUN program that is inclusive of all, regardless of skating skills.
What do you need to bring?
Wear black leggings or a black skort. We’ll provide a shirt at the first practice that participants will wear at all games. Hair should be pulled back into a ponytail; a personalized hair bow will also be provided. Participants might want to bring a water bottle. A great attitude and lots of SPIRIT!
When are practices?
The first practice will be on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. For this first practice, we will have check-in starting at 5:30 pm to ensure there is time for parents to sign waivers and help their participant change into their shirts prior to starting. A full practice schedule will be handed out at this first practice and then posted on our website. Practices will typically be the hour prior to game start on select days.
Where are practices?
Practices will take place in the Atrium (East Lobby in front of the NI Bulls/NIFSC Offices), check-in table will also be located in this area.
Is this a drop off event?
I can’t attend all the games, can my child still participate?
Yes! There are approximately one NI Bulls and one MC Toros game designated as a Spirit Squad game per month during the regular season. A full schedule of these games will be handed out at the first practice and then posted to our website. Participants can choose what works for them to come to! This program is flexible!
