Alex Johnson

Alex Johnson grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota and began skating in his backyard. He trained at Braemar Arena from age 9 until age 20. He then moved out to Colorado Springs, CO to continue his training at the Broadmoor World Arena under coaches Tom Dickson and Catarina Lindgren. Alex has competed at the U.S. Championships 11 times and medaled in both the Novice and Junior divisions. He is also an international medalist and has competed all around the world as part of team USA since 2007. This past June, Alex returned to Minneapolis and is currently balancing both skating and school. He is a full-time student pursuing a degree in Finance at the University of Minnesota – Carlson School of Management. Alex intends to remain in the world of figure skating after his competitive career ends as either a coach or a choreographer.

Rhythm & Blades
The Rhythm and Blades Open Adult synchronized skating team represents the Rochester Figure Skating Club and has been skating together since 2011. The team earned a pewter medal at the 2017 Midwestern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and won the gold medal at the Hiawathaland Competition in Rochester, Minnesota.

Beginner classes are perfect for new skaters ages (3 & up)!
Classes are divided by a combination of age and skill and will teach basic skating techniques, safety and fun. Classes are each Sunday with times starting at 4:45pm and are held at the North Iowa Ice Arena.
NEW Beginner class (Session 1) starting Oct 11, cost is $60 which includes registration, class and a FREE T-shirt.
Session 2 is starting Nov 15, cost is $60 for first time skaters ($50 for second session skaters – no tshirt). Includes registration, class and a FREE tshirt.
Session 3 is starting Jan 10, cost is $60 for first time skaters ($50 for second session skaters – no tshirt), includes registration, class and a FREE tshirt.

This is NIFSC’s Dress Rehearsal Schedule for March 27th, 2015:
4:00-5:20pm Advanced Skaters
5:20-5:30pm Parents and Skaters meeting – first set of bleachers (skaters can be on the ice – if glass is already out)
5:30pm All Skaters to the ice
5:45pm Opening & Closing Numbers (involves all skaters)
Club Photo on the ice following Opening & Closing practice – All skaters in their Club Uniform (club jacket & skirt or pants for boys)
After the club photo we will start rehearsal at the beginning of the show.
Please be patient at dress rehearsal. Be prepared for some wait time. Please make sure your skater is reporting to the ice at the right time for his or her number.
There will be video taken of the show on Sunday Afternoon along with action photos. Both will be available for purchase.
